In the sunny afternoon of September 20th a varied crowd is waiting outside Via Manin,19 to enter the Krizia fashion show. There are the press, the bloggers, the fotobloggers (posed exclusively outside the most famous designers’ fashion shows) and a huge group of foreign buyers including rich Arabian women. At the entrance, the hostesses give to all the women a small piece of jewelry, a simple gift, with which begins an imaginary dialogue between the guests and the designer herself, that will continue through the collection.
The lights come up and the models with the longest legs ever seen during the Milan Fashion Week, walk faster and faster on wedges and high heels. They seem got out directly from Mariuccia Mandelli’s sketches, walking (sometimes stumbling) on the catwalk with the Krizia logo written on the background.
The collection is visibly Krizia, but paradoxically seems to be another Krizia. The style is updated and is more contemporary than usual, even if mantained its independence from the trends of the other designers. All the great classics of the house are reinterpreted with the lightness of linen or the transparence of silk and organza, in the range of neutral colors such as sand, cream, baby blue or dark brown for the suede garments.
The arcuate line is the main feature of the collection, both on short jackets with swollen shoulder pads and on canvas blouson with raglan sleeves. The silhouette is hugged by big golden or ton-sur-ton bands on high-waisted long pants and shorts, all covered by unstructured men’s jackets or safari jackets. For the evening: black pant suits; lightweight tunics with rounded or butterfly sleeves; long dresses with mix and match of different materials or precious mosaics of applications resembling the Krizia zoo with tigers, panthers, crocodiles scales and toucans.
Definitely an interesting collection that catches the attention and amazes the Krizia addicted and the archive’s lovers, thanks to a new interpretation of the classic codes of the fashion house.
Ouch! I’m falling at Krizia!
