The series of special events of the 85th edition of Pitti Uomo fashion fair started with a leap into the imaginary and dreamy world of Casamadre, the shoe designer duo composed by Alessia Crea and David Parisi, winners of the Who is on Next? Uomo 2013 competition.
At the entrance of the Limonaia di Villa Vittoria a black marquee with the brand’s name in large letters, a tray of cookies and the cotton candy corner made immediately clear the uniqueness of the presentation. It’s a jump into the past, in the values of the art of entertainment, of the artistic gymnastics and the sense of family belonging to the nomadic culture: it is the CASAMADRE CIRCUS!

Inside the tent, on the walls of a long dark corridor, there are the video projections of acrobats, tightrope walkers, jugglers and trapeze artists performing their exercises, wearing the new fall winter 2014 CASAMADRE shoes.
The unusual mix between the circus tradition from the ’30s and the contemporary fashion practicality gave birth to formal and chromatic contrasts ranging from the thick Vibram rubber soles of the male shoes, to the strapped high platform shoes for women; both types declined in the shades of black, midnight blue and dark green.

As far as Casamadre is a very unique brand in its kind and it is inspired to a fascinating world, the meaning of the collection and the dreamy set in which it has been presented, seems to go far beyond the fashion products, and like the moral of a story, it reminds us the importance of several universal values, such as the total and constant dedication that everyone has to put in what he’s doing, in order to achieve the perfection in his own field, just like the circus performers with their exercises. So… have a good workout!
