Take your seats, relax while sipping a cool drink, and start reading the second post dedicated to my “Not Celebrating Birthday Wishlist”: the new daily appointment that will accompany us until August 10th, actually the date of my birthday that I don’t like to celebrate. Let’s see if through this imaginary journey I’ll change my mind on my 29 years’ party. For all the design lovers, aspiring designers and simply curious people, I’d like to point out a special date with the famous Italian design brand Kartell, which will take place on November 5th.
Here we are at the end of the Milan Design Week, a grueling, but fun event which enlivens every corner of Milan taking away for a short time, the typical gray (and almost boring) patina of the city. For the weekend I propose to you a strange mix of events which investigate the contrasts between ethics/aesthetics, old/new, masters/new talents, enhancing their differences and trying to make a better life, just respecting the industrial design’s aim. The fashion history has taught us that the famous Gucci Flora motif , was born in Milan in 1966, when Rodolfo Gucci wanted the Princess Grace of Monaco to choose a gift following the purchase of a green Bamboo bag. The princess asked for a scarf, but Rodolfo Gucci himself said he didn’t have something enough beautiful for such a special guest.
