Over the past two years, during the Milan fashion week we got used to see several types of fashion designers:
Watching this beautiful video made by Elia Acunto and Alessia Caliendo for Vein Magazine I can only smile because it reminds me the good times shared with them during the last #MilanFashionWeek, but at the same time I think: “Phones that don’t call and glasses that don’t shelter from the sun.” These are the true weapons of seduction of the fashion week. Fool who believes that they are needed to seduce a man. The real focus is the camera and its owner, the one who is convinced to capture your image, but actually is unaware (maybe ?) that you have…
While the streets of Paris burn under an unusual late-September sun, the old refectory of the Couvent des Cordeliers becomes a dark enchanted forest with giant cherries apparently fallen from the pillars of the hall. It is not a dream, nor a paradoxical scenario of the Gulliver’s Travels, but only the set of the UNDERCOVER spring summer 2015 fashion show. Just looking at these elements is clear to everyone that once again Jun Takahashi will amaze the audience with one of his eclectic collections, full of symbols and artistic references.
Everything gone well even on the second day of Milan fashion week, no fashion shows scheduled on my calendar, but a lot of presentations and an unusual date: the exhibition event in Palazzo Litta dedicated to the new direction of the brand Krizia.
First day of Milan fashion week (at least for me) and while on social media such authoritative newspaper as LaRepubblica shares videos against the phenomenon of fashion blogging with such a lack of professionalism, the seasonal trends dance is going on the runway and in the showrooms, and it doesn’t matter if a designer has re-used the same elements, themes or inspirations of another brand. In fashion seems there are no rules!
From the 12nd to the 14th of September, Lucca became the capital of craftsmanship thanks to Fashion in Flair, the fair-market that year after year, gives the opportunity to visit the most beautiful private palaces of the city where you can learn, touch, feel, taste and buy very unique high craftsmanship products, result of a recovery of traditional secular activities.
“The three stripes of diamonds that make up the necklace, symbolize ours family dedication to work. Once closed the necklace, the Damiani Chakra get together, reassembling the main circle as in the Oriental philosophy that inspired the jewel.” With these few words Silvia Damiani, Vice-chairman of Damiani SpA, describes the jewel which won the Diamonds Trading Company – Power of Love Award in 2003, and that she officially donated to the Museo degli Argenti of Florence to celebrate the closing of the exhibition “Damiani, 90 Years of Excellence and Passion” held form June to September in Palazzo Pitti.
From the 20th to the 23rd of November the city of Florence will add many other fashion colors to its already wonderful palette thanks to the Costume Colloquium IV: Colors in Fashion, the two-year cycle of lectures organized by the Romualdo Del Bianco Foundation, in collaboration with the Associazione degli Amici della Galleria del Costume di Palazzo Pitti.
Alessandro: – I really like the dress of that woman over there, it reminds me of a Balla’s painting and the jewelry she is wearing are the pure essence of what I personally consider “design jewelry”. Who is she? Can you recognize her? Alessia: – I don’t know, I don’t remember, but the dress seems to be a Fendi! With this fleeting comment between colleagues (note: me and Electromode), I came in touch for the first time with the creations of Caterina Zangrando, one of the 4 accessory designers selected by Vogue Italia for the Who Is On Next?2014 contest,…
We all know that among the Italian fashion weeks AltaRoma is dedicated to the fashion scouting thanks to the Vogue contest WhoIsOnNext? and other several initiatives such as the end-course fashion shows of the Roman fashion schools and the Be Blue Be Balestra event in the atelier of Renato Balestra.
