On February 20th, began the Milan Fashion Week and the return of Angelo Marani in the official calendar was one of the first surprises of the opening day.
On February 21st, at the beginning of the Milan fashion week, Pietro Negra, president of Pinko brand, and Franca Sozzani, editor in chief of Vogue Italia, presented the Pinko Bag for Ethiopia, an ethical-friendly capsule collection, with a cocktail event at the Gian Galeazzo Visconti Studio in Corso Monforte.
In the fourth and final day of My Milan Fashion Week I saw only the Ermanno Scervino fashion show, and if I have to be honest, I stayed in Milan until the morning of February 23 only for this reason. I couldn’t miss it! Soon I will publish my official review, but unofficially and giving you a purely personal opinion, I can say that it was one of the most beautiful collections seen in these days. Several designers were inspired by the punk mood, glancing at the sculptural shapes of Balenciaga, while Scervino stood out for the sheer elegance and…
My third day of Milan fashion week was dedicated to the accessories and shoes collections located in various showrooms of the fashion district. Givenchy – GENTLEMEN ONLY fragrance Alberto Moretti shoes Mario Valentino shoes Furla bags Aigner fashion show Paula Cademartori bags Angelos Bratis couture
Second day of Milan Fashion Week and as I promised, here is another short-post to let you live a little bit of my fashion week before the posts of the single collecions. Milan is completely paralyzed by the snow, or rather, fashion people are completely paralyzed by the snow. Some photographers complain that this year the street-style is undertone, because of these terrible weather conditions. Are we seeing a return to sobriety? No, it’s just really cold.
As many of you already know, I’m not usual to share short post on fashion week. I prefer to review every single collection in its little details, but this this time I decided to update my blog as a sort of daily diary, with “stolen moments” from the backstages, in the catwalks or in the streets near the fashion-locations. Obviously as soon as possible I’ll post even the review of the singular collections! Models after Gucci fashion show First show by Paola Frani in black, red and white with floral and geometric patterns. Second show Angelo…
Even this year Sanremo (the most important Italian music festival) has come to an end. From February 12th, the 63rd edition glued an average of 11,936,000 viewers to their tv-screens for five evenings, proving that still exist Italian “thinking people”. Yes, I mean intelligent and reasonable people because this was a very unusual festival, influenced by cultural, political and social references, and characterized by an informal and humorous show’s host, without the typical platitudes of the national networks. Fabio Fazio in Costume National, Luciana Littizzetto in Aquilano.Rimondi – Sanremo 2013 In this brief post I’d like…
Lately has been released the new Gucci Spring Summer 2013 advertising campaign “signed” by the lens of Mert Alas & Marcus Piggott, the most sought-after photographers by the fashion industry. Their passion for editing with saturated colors and low brightness this time clashed with the vibrant solid colors looks worn by Anja Rubik and Karmen Pedaru on a neutral background. Frida Giannini with the special Gucci time machine take us at the end of the 60s, when Diana Vreeland called her models “personalities” and put them on full pages by the shots of Richard Avedon and Gian Paolo Barbieri.…
2012 has been a challenging year for several emerging fashion designers, especially if we consider that special events such as WhoIsOnNext? or the Vogue Talents selection at Palazzo Morando acted as a springboard for them. Andrés Caballero is one of those talented fashion designers. Born in 1981 in Mexico, he is the creative spirit behind the San Andrès Milano tailoring brand, whose strength lies in the rich cultural and training background which took him from Mexico City to the Marangoni School in Milan and then at the Paris American Academy in Paris, where he specialized in Haute Couture. Andrès Caballero…
The Parisian Spring Summer 2013 Haute Couture week has become the stage for the battle between the French couturier and the Italian masters. The fashion designers, who always try to concile the needs of the contemporary women with the typical “haute couture princess-dream”, seemed to be divided into four categories: Paris Haute Couture Spring Summer 2013 – Dior, Valentino (details)
